Kairali Arts Cultural & Welfare Association (CBD Belapur)
Kairali Arts Cultural & Welfare Association (CBD Belapur) emerged as the brainchild of some high-thinking, philanthropic, socio-economic-culture-oriented Malayalis during a routine rendezvous in an evening; primarily for rendering economic as well as emotional assistance to their fellowmen of any unforeseen crisis or disaster. Since then, the organization has grown magnetically and magnanimously and has been instrumental in providing help for medical emergencies, cultural development, and in the form of educational assistance.
We were fortunate enough to take possession of a plot of land of 500 sqm. We were allocated readily by CIDCO authorities as a mark of appreciation for our veritable activities to put up our cultural complex. Prodigious support from our well-wishers supplemented by the part payment of the financial grant from the Dept. of Culture, Ministry of Human Free Source Development, New Delhi has helped us in completing construction on Phase-I of Complex in the year 1994. We have completed the work of Phase II. Although we have suffered varied vicissitudes of fortune many a time, we have weathered them with invincible spirit emanated from the members in toto. there were severe mental conflicts to encounter, mighty toils to undergo, and acute miseries to endure.
Starting from the embryonic stage of social life in Navi Mumbai, Kairali has rendered 37 years of yeomen service to the Society irrespective of any man-made disparities with the sole aim of inculcating a sense of National Integration through the media of fine arts, love, and labour. Spirit of cooperation, sense of responsibility, and integration of minds among the members coupled with untold energy and vitality for selfless service have been the secret of success in our activities. To revive the traditional values and propagate the fine arts of India to the changing generation, we conduct classes in Bharatanatyam,Mohini attam, vocal Carnatic music, Instrumental music, Yoga and Western dance classes, etc. etc. The fact that more than 350 students irrespective of any linguistic barriers undergo training in Classical arts testifies to the efficiency and reputation of our training methodology which indeed is a test of perseverance, dedication, and hard work. Understanding the cramping effects of yoga practice on additional and behavioural changes coupled with the curative effect for many physical and mental ailments, we started YOGA classes under the able guidance of experts. The turnout by the housewives for the practice session is increasing with time and today we accommodate everyone. The harvest festival “ONAM’ is celebrated every year by a get-together thereby setting a stage for the young budding aspirants to perform their talents through cultural programs. The X’mas & New Year program also conducts get-togethers to bring peace and harmony. Various cultural programs depicting the theme of National Integration and Secularism were the highlights of every program.
